About periodic drug testing

Types of periodic drug testing

We have a comprehensive set of drug tests suitable for periodic drug testing, these include:

While point of care drug testing has its obvious advantages, periodic drug testing tends to utilise laboratory drug testing. This is due to the safety critical nature of the roles involved, and the need for ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation in place for auditing and compliance purposes.

In addition, hair drug testing is a good choice for periodic drug testing of employees in high profile positions. For example, we currently provide this service to the Home Office for their security and vetting teams.

Whatever your needs, our Clinical Account Managers will advise you on the best periodic drug testing option for your circumstances.

Periodic drug testing costs in London

The cost of periodic drug testing in London depends on the test required, and the number of candidates at the same appointment. What clinic you choose, and whether you require a site visit to your own location also determines the cost.

For example, point of care drug screening can be as little as £50 per person, depending on the number and location. Whereas laboratory drug testing is more expensive, similar multi-person discounts are also available for as little as £60 per person. Hair drug testing is more expensive due to the nature of the test. The price for a hair drug test starts from £255 for one individual.

While periodic drug test prices depend on the method chosen, we try and minimise any price variation based on location. For example, there is no price difference between some of our central London clinics, and those located in the outer boroughs.

What about periodic alcohol testing?

We offer alcohol testing in conjunction with periodic drug testing at no extra charge.

Depending on your needs and availability, we can offer the following options:

  • Breath alcohol testing, using a Home Office approved breathalyser. We can work to client defined cut-off levels, whether that be current drink drive levels, or industry specific standards.
  • Point of care saliva alcohol testing. Used in conjunction with either point of care, or laboratory saliva drug testing. Usually performed when breath alcohol testing is not available.
  • Urine laboratory alcohol testing. We can analyse for alcohol markers in the same urine sample that is to be tested in the laboratory. Again, this is normally used when a breath alcohol test is not available.

Our Clinical Account Managers will advise you on the best periodic alcohol testing option for your needs.
